The First Pediatric Misophonia and Hyperacusis Questionnaire
This study seeks to develop and validate the first parent-report instrument for identifying auditory sensory over-responsivity (SOR) conditions including hyperacusis and misophonia in pediatric patients. The study aims to transform two existing valid adult questionnaires that assess hyperacusis and misophonia conditions separately into a combined parent-report instrument called the Pediatric Misophonia and Hyperacusis Questionnaire (PMHQ) that is capable of evaluating both.

Reducing Auditory Hyper-reactivity in Children with Autism: a pilot study
This study investigates neural, physiological, and behavioral markers of treatment response to the Exposure Therapy for Auditory Reactivity with Self-regulation (EARS) program. Volunteers ages 8 to 11 who are diagnosed with autism will participate in a free 12-week treatment for auditory hyper-reactivity in which audiology testing and MRIs will be conducted. Gift cards, small prizes, and a 3-D image of their brain will be provided.
